DO NOT BUY From This Retailer!


As you know I require Horizon Live Bird Shipping Boxes for all adoptions that need to be shipped. I have been lucky enough to only recently run out of shipping boxes this season. I will usually make a big purchase at the end of each season so adopters can enjoy the low price without shipping fees but this season has wiped me out already.

When I went to use an online retailer that is pretty well known in the aviculture community for having the lowest prices recently I was shocked at the awful service and damaged items I received. I had used them once before but that was on behalf of someone else so I never saw the box I purchased previously. Since I make it a point to give all of my potential adopters the most information possible I have probably mentioned this retailer to a number of you. This compels me to warn would-be buyers who I have mistakenly directed to this store.

First of all, I had to wait days and send multiple emails just to hunt down my tracking numbers after sending my payment on Paypal ahead of time. After the items arrived I can see why. The boxes, which I was charged a fee of about $20 each to ship, arrived simply taped together – that was their expensive method of shipping. Of course they look ragged with lots of damage! They are not even usable since they have strict requirements for the shipping companies I use – you can’t try to send birds in a dilapidated old box.  And what’s worse is there are no signs of any actual paid labels on the boxes, just a collection of stamps and a hand-written shipping label. I mean really! I don’t even send out pairs or items that way and my adopters never have to beg for tracking info.

What really became the “cherry on top” of this whole disaster is the fact that the retailer was rude throughout the entire transaction and refused to issue any refunds or replace the boxes after I mentioned the damage when clearly he had pocketed my shipping fees. I am pretty outraged! Luckily since we conducted business over Paypal I will be able to get a full refund, but I had to file a dispute to do so which is really sad. A good rule of thumb in business – the customer is always right. Also always be sure to use a trusted source for transactions such as Paypal so shady retailers such as this are not able to steal from paying customers. Another reason why I use Paypal!

So in short – do NOT waste your time and money on this company! And I apologize for ever recommending them in the first place.
