Merry Christmas from Quigley & TWFA!!

It’s Christmas time in Kansas City and the Plaza Lights are shining brightly. Quigley loves playing in his snow and can’t wait to open his presents. Santa knows he’s been a good bird and knows exactly what to bring.

Even the finches love the freshly fallen snow and playing in the trees and garland. They even fell asleep in the branches. This is the first year of free flight and I was concerned that they would end up in the Christmas tree, but they stay close to home and Im sure it’s because I’ve provided them there own personal trees.

Quigley loves the parties and travels shoulder to shoulder, making new friends, giving kisses and sampling all the treats. Children are his favorite and while most birds are afraid of small hands… he always lets them snuggle him tight.

IMG_0272Many nights during the winter months are spent snuggling in my house coat taking naps when he can for as long as I will let him.

It seems that recently, as he has turned 7 years old that Quigley as become more independent and spends time talking to his friend in the mirror and ringing his bell toy. He loves playing with own personal Christmas decorations as well.

I’ve noticed that he has become very defensive of his cage and becomes a “wild” bird at times. He settles down quickly, but after some research, it is hormones. He had to have a slight wing clip to help with those raging hormones. But overall, Quigley remains a sweet bird even when he’s ornery.

He also wants to thank you for allowing him to be the 2014 BOTS and some day hopes to meet you and deliver a Quigley kiss!

Have a fabulous Christmas!

Love, Quigley
